Perheenisä kävi torstaiaamuna töihin mennessään postissa kysymässä meidän posteja. Sanoivat, että sinä päivänä oli postinkantaja tulossa meidän alueelle täyttämään laatikoita. Niinpä iltapäivällä Perheenäiti kävi Pojan kanssa katsomassa portin pielessä olevaa TYHJÄÄ laatikkoa, se siitä. Perjantaina satoi vettä koko päivän eikä Perheenäiti viitsinyt käydä laatikolla - Perheenisä tuli töistä kotiin illalla seitsemän jälkeen syli täynnä märkää postia!
Täkäläiset postilaatikot ovat tosi pieniä, kapeita, kirjeet sinne suurinpiirtein mahtuvat. Nyt loodaan oli yritetty tunkea kolmen viikon lehdet, kirjeet, laskut ja paksut kuoretkin, huonolla menestyksellä niin, että osa oli jäänyt ulkopuolelle ja sade oli tietysti ne kastellut. No, lähtivätpä kuoret kerrankin helposti auki, lähinnä kuoriintuivat itsestään irti, litimärkiä kun olivat. Meillä oli oikein mukava posti-ilta, joukossa oli jokaiselle jotain kivaa. Vastaisen varalle saattaisi olla viisasta laittaa kaikki tänne tulevat kirjeet ja pienet paketit muovipussin sisään ennen kuoreen laittamista...

On his way to work Daddy went to the post office to ask for our mail on Thursday morning. They said a postman was on his way to our area that they. In the afternoon Mummy and Little Boy went together to check the mailbox by the gate, but it was EMPTY. On Friday it was raining all day and Mummy decided to stay inside and not to go the mailbox - Daddy came home in the evening after seven o'clock carrying a huge pile of wet mail!
Local mail boxes are really small, narrow, made for letters. Now the postman had tried to put in three weeks magazines, letters, bills and thick envelopes, not succeeding very well and some of them were left hanging outside in the rain. Well, at least we got the envelopes opened easily, they were soaking wet and almost fell off by themselves. We had a great mail evening, everyone got something nice. For the future it might be wise to put everything in a small plastic bag before putting them inside the evelopes...
We'll see how long this postman-pat delivers the mail.
