Tänään Pojan koululla oli kevään viimeinen "laboratorio", aiheena "manipolazione" eli valmistus. Nyt paikalla oli enemmän vanhempia kuin edellisillä kerroilla. Kokoonnuimme yhteen luokkahuoneeseen ja istuimme pikkuruisille tuoleille pöytien ääreen lasten kanssa. Aluksi jokainen sai aukeaman sanomalehdestä ja siihen piti kirjoittaa lapsen nimi. Seuraavaksi pöytään tuotiin suuri kulhollinen pastaa ja jokaiselle leikattiin pätkä narua: teimme rannekorut pujottamalla pastat naruun.

Pujottelun aikana yksi äiti sekoitti taikinan jauhoista, suolasta, liimasta ja vedestä. Kun korut oli saatu valmiiksi, jokainen sai sanomalehdelleen vähän vehnäjauhoja, palan taikinaa sekä muovailuvahamuotteja. Taikina paineltiin lituskaksi, siitä otettiin muoteilla kuvioita ja niihin tehtiin reiät ripustamista varten. Kuviot jäivät nimikoiduille papereille kuivumaan ja lapset maalaavat ne myöhemmin.

On ollut hauska käydä tutustumassa koulun toimintaan tällä tavoin yhdessä lapsen kanssa. Osa puuhista on selvästi ollut Pojalle jo ennestään tuttuja, koska hän on innolla leikkinyt ja laulanut muiden mukana.

Today was the last "laboratory" at Little Boy's school, theme was "manipolazion": manipulation or making something. There were more parents present than on previous times. We gathered in one of the class rooms and sat down on the little chairs by the tables with the children. First everyone was given a newspaper sheet and we needed to write the child's name on it. Next we got a big bowl of pasta and a piece of string: we threaded the pasta on the string to make a bracelet.

During the pasta threding one of the mums made a dough out of wheat flour, salt, glue and water. When the bracelts were finished everyone got some flour on their sheet of newspaper and a piece of the dough. We used modelling clay molds to make different shapes out of the dough and finally made a hole in them for hanging. We left the shapes to dry on the named newspaper sheets and the children paint them later on.

It has been fun to be able to get to know the things they do at the school with your child. Some of the games have clearly been familiar to Little Boy because he has been playing and singing eagerly with the other children.
