Poika kertoi eilen kotimatkalla, että he olivat käyneet retkellä. Koko koulu oli kävellyt kylän satamaan, lapsille oli puettu pelastusliivit ja olivat menneet laivaan. Laivalla oli sitten ajettu "Afrikan ympäri", maihin ei menty.  Kuulosti mielenkiintoiselta.

Tänään aamulla kysyimme opettajalta ja saimme kuulla, että lapset olivat tosiaan olleet eilen laivaretkellä järvellä, mutta ihan Afrikkaan asti eivät sentään olleet menneet, kiertäneet vain pienen saaren! Afrikka on varmastkin jäänyt Pojan mieleen keväjuhlaesityksestä, siinä kun kierrettiin maapalloa ja Afrikasta oli kameleita.

Yesterday on our way home Little Boy told that they had done a little trip. The whole school had walked down to the harbour, everyone had got a life jacket and they had stepped on a boat. Then the boat had gone "around Africa" but they didn't go ashore. Sounded really interesting.

This morning we asked the teacher about the trip and heard that they indeed had made a boat trip on the lake but hadn't gone all the way to Africa, just around a small island. Africa has probably stuck into Little Boy's mind from the spring fete show as they were travelling around the world and there were camels from Africa.
