Loman aikana tapasimme myös Pojan serkkuja. Aluksi pikkuväki hieman ujosteli toisiaan, mutta jo pian juoksivat pitkin pihaa ja leikkivät yhdessä. Kuvassa serkukset yrittivät napata toistensa lippalakkeja - Poika keksi tuoda omansa turvaan Perheenäidille!

We also met Little Boy's cousins. At first they were a little bit shy but soon were running around the lawn and played together. In the picture the children try to steal each other's caps - Little Boy cleverly brought his cap to Mummy to keep safe!

Sedän kanssa kurkistettiin kaivoon. Ei näkynyt vesihiisiä!

Uncle opened the lid of the well and let everyone take a look. No well-monsters!

Autoilimme Ukin luokse ja kävimme lähikaupungissa katsomassa Sirkus Finlandian esityksen. Se olikin hieno elämys ja koko perheelle ensimmäinen kerta sirkuksessa. Kannattaa käydä, jos osuu kohdalle.
 
We drove to visit Ukki (grandpa) and went to see Sirkus Finland in a nearby city. It was a great experience and also the first time in circus for the whole family. It is worth seeing if you happen to be somewhere near the circus on it's tour.

Viimeinen syntymäpäivälahja avattiin Ukin luona ja paketista löytyi radio-ohjattava vene. Sitä piti tietysti heti käydä kokeilemassa läheisellä järvellä. Poika oli harjoitellut radio-ohjattavilla autoilla jo aikaisemmin ja niinpä veneilykin sujui hyvin pienen harjoittelun jälkeen.

The last birthday present was opened at Ukki's and it was a remote-controlled speed boat. Of course it had to be tested immediately at the nearby lake. Little Boy had driven remote-controlled cars so it didn't take too long to get the boat moving.

Lopuksi piti käydä uimassa ja koittaa tarttuuko lumpeenlehti kiinni Perheenisään.
 
Afterwards the boys went swimming but at first Little Boy wanted to see if leaf of a waterlily would stick to Daddy.

Nyt Perheenisä on ollut jo viikon töissä Italiassa ja palasikin aivan "kreivin aikaan". Matkalla kentältä kotiin Perheenisä näki poliiseja raivaamassa kaatuneita puita moottoritiellä ja muitakin merkkejä siitä, että alueella oli riehunut raju ukkosmyrsky. Ja olikin aivan oikeassa, kotona oli sähköt poikki. Pääkatkaisija oli räpsähtänyt pois päältä ja sitä myöden jääkaappi ja pakastin ilman virtaa. Onneksi ne olivat vielä viileinä, mutta kovin pitkään eivät enää olisi kestäneet ennen kuin olisivat sulaneet.

Takapihalta löytyi lisäksi iso kasa paksuja puun oksia. Naapurilta Perheenisä kuuli, että takametsästä oli aikaisemman myrskyn aikana kaatunut puu pensasaitaamme päin ja naapuri oli päästänyt metsurit raivaamaan puun pois. He olivat ilmeisesti jättäneet osan paksuista oksista meille, kun olivat näheet telttasaunan ja polttopuuvarastot puutarhassa. Viikon mittaan Perheenisä on työpäivien jälkeen ahkeroinut sahan ja kirveen kanssa ja tehnyt meille saunapuita ison määrän.

Now Daddy has been back to Italy at work for a week and he retured there almost at the last moment. On his way home from the airport he saw policemen clearing fallen trees from the motorway and also other signs of a big thunderstorm. And he was right, there were no electricity at home.  On the fuse box the main switch had short circuited and so the fridge and freezer were without power. Luckily they were still cool but soon would have melted and caused a mess.

On the back garden there were also a big pile of thick branches of a tree. The neighbours told Daddy that during an earlier storm a tree had fallen against our hedge and the neighbours had let loggers to our garden to clear the tree off. They had left some of the brances there as they probably had seen the tent sauna and our firewood supply. During this week after coming home from work Daddy has been busy with a saw and an axe and chopped a lot of wood for the sauna.
