Tänään iltapäivällä Pojan koulussa oli juhla isovanhemmille - vastaa kai äitien- ja isänpäivää. Portit avattiin klo 15 ja suuri joukko kovaäänisiä isiä, äitejä ja isovanhempia työntyi koulun suureen leikkisaliin. Lapset oli tälläkin kertaa koottu seisomaan salin suuren peilin eteen ja koulun johtajatar kuulutti, että lapset laulavat kaksi laulua, yhden mummuille ja toisen vaareille. Poikakin osasi laulaa osan laulusta muiden mukana.

Lauluesityksen jälkeen salin toisessa päässä oli tarjolla pieniä täytettyjä sämpylöitä, perunalastuja ja juustonaksuja sekä juotavaa. Lisäksi aikuisille oli suuri sammiollinen tuhtia sangriaa, mutta se jäi Perheenäidiltä maistamatta, kun olimme liikkeellä autolla. Muiden suomalaisäitien kanssa totesimme, että eipä taida Suomessa päiväkodin juhlissa olla tarjolla vettä väkevämpää! Täällä se on ihan tavallista.

Tästä  joukosta irtosi iloista laulua oikein kunnolla. Vasemmalla Pojan ryhmän opettaja.

Today afternoon all the parents and grandparents were invited to school for the Grandparent's Day party - similar as mother's and father's day. The gates were opened at 3 p.m. and a big and noisy crowd of mums, dads and grandparents pushed themselves into the big playroom. Once again the children were standing by the big mirror and the manageress announced that the children are going to sing two songs, one for grans and one for grandpas. Little Boy was happily singing with the others.

After the singing there was a buffet on the other end of the playroom. They had little bread rolls, crisps and soft drinks. They also had a huge bowl of strong sangria but unfortunately Mummy had to pass on it as she was driving. With the other Finnish mums we were saying that there wouldn't be anything stronger than water on offer in Finnish playschool party! Here it is quite normal.
