Kesälomaan kuuluu joka vuosi vierailu Naantalin kulmille tapaamaan kummipoikaa ja samalla reissulla olemme yleensä poikenneet Muumimaailmaan porukalla. Muumit on nyt nähty niin monta kertaa ja Poikakin kasvanut (samoin kuin kummipoikakin), että päätimme tällä kertaa suunnata Väskin seikkailusaarelle. Ja kyllä kannatti!

Thursday
Every summer we travel to the west coast of Finland near Naantali to see our godson and every time we have visited the Moominworld together. Because we have seen the Moomins so many times now and the both boys have grown, this year we decided to go to the Väski Adventure Island. The place was worth visiting!
Merirosvolaiva saarelle lähti aivan Muumimaailman portin vierestä ja vei meidät perille kymmenessä minuutissa. Merirosvosatamassa meidät vastaanotti tämä herra koukkuineen ja puujalkoineen.
The pirate ship took off just next to the Moominworld gate and took us to Väski in ten minutes. This chap with his hook and wooden leg was greeting us at the Pirate Harbour.
Ensimmäinen pysähdys oli erakon kultavaltaus, jossa sai kokeilla kullanhuuhdontaa. Hyvästä yrityksestä huolimatta vaskoolin pohjalla ei kimaltanut. Liekö erakko jo huuhtonut itse kaiken kullan talten vai olisiko tekniikassa ollut hieman parantamisen varaa?
The first stop was the Gold Prospector's Claim where gold panning was available. In spite of trying hard we didn't find any glistening gold nuggets at the bottom of the pan. We were wondering if the Hermit living there had panned all the nuggest or maybe some more practice is needed.
Tästä korkeasta tornista lähti kaksi eri korkeudella olevaa vaijerirataa. Perheenisä kiipesi ylimmälle tasolle.
In this high tower there were two ropeslides on two different levels. Daddy climbed to the highest level.

Poikaa vaijeriliuku hieman jännitti, mutta aikansa katseltuaan muiden menoa lopulta uskaltautui Perheenisän kanssa kokeilemaan. 
Boy found the ropeslide a bit scary but having watched a while how others did it he also wanted to try.
Ensimmäinen lasku pelotti, mutta ei niin paljon, etteikö tähän olisi menty uudestaan ja uudestaan ja uudestaan ja... 
The first slide was thrilling but not too much, and he wanted to go in again and again and again...
Perheenäitikin lupasi laskea, jos Poika uskaltaa. Eihän siinä muu auttanut kuin kiivetä kyytiin jalat täristen ja sekös pikkuväkeä nauratti.
Mummy promised to go as well if Boy would. The boys are having fun because Mummy went on the ropeslide with trembling legs.

Pysähdyimme syömään eväitä Kalastajakylään. Kesken evästauon kylään ilmestyi kaksi merirosvoa, jotka haastoivat lapset pelaamaan jalkapalloa kanssaan. Poika lähti mukaan.
We stopped for lunch at the Fisherman's Village. While we were eating two Pirates came and challenged the kids to a football game. Boy joined in.
Salakuljettajien linnakkeessa kävimme katsomassa hauskan näytelmän "Itkevän haamun arvoitus". Kuvassa itse haamu.
At the Smuggler's Fortress we saw a fun play called "The Secret of the Crying Ghost". Here is the ghost himself.
Uponneiden mastojen kiipeilyradalla siirryttiin mastolta toiselle maahan koskematta.
At the climbing course of the Sunken Masts you have to move from one mast to another without touching the ground.
Viimeisistä mastoista näkyi vain vähän yläosaa.
Of the last masts only their tops were showing.
Maastoradalla oli monenlaisia ylitettäviä ja alitettavia esteitä...
At the Obstable Course you had to climb over or get under different kind of obstacles...
...ja puiden väliin pingotettuja vaijereita. Näin se käy näppärästi!
...and walk on cables stretched between trees. Way to go!
Jousiammuntapaikalla Poika tarvitsi hieman Perheenisän apua, jousi kun oli korkeampi kuin Poika!
At the Archery site Boy needed Daddy's help as the bow was bigger than him!
Tähystystornille johti vaappuva köysisilta.
This wobbly suspension bridge led way to the high Viewing Tower.
